Welcome to the Tyler’s Hope Center for Comprehensive Dystonia Care, the vision of Tyler’s Hope for a Dystonia Cure, Inc. and The University of Florida Movement Disorders Center.
Our mission: To provide the highest level of medical and surgical care to patients with dystonia. To perform research that will lead to better treatments and ultimately a cure for dystonia and other movement disorders. To learn more about Tyler’s Hope for a Dystonia Cure click here.
A Multidisciplinary Approach
Our team includes specialized physicians, a physician assistant, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, researchers as well as other interdisciplinary specialists. Learn more about our team here.
Our Center provides:
- Neurological consults
- Neurosurgical consultation and surgery including Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
- Botulinum toxin treatment
- Speech and language disorder evaluation and treatment
- Gait training and Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Treatment of associated anxiety, depression and mood disorders
- Education for fellows, residents, medical and graduate students
- Interdisciplinary research toward dystonia treatments and a cure
Becoming a Tyler’s Hope Center for Comprehensive Dystonia Care Patient
If you are interested in becoming a patient, please contact your physician for a referral. This can be your family physician, internal medicine physician, neurologist, or any physician who feels you may have a movement disorder.
Please ask your doctor’s office to fax a referral to Jennifer Reichwage, our Program Coordinator at 352-273-5575. This referral should include all your demographic information (so we can contact you with appointment information), as well as copies of your insurance card(s) and the most-recent 3-5 clinic notes from your neurologist.
