The University of Florida Movement Disorders Center (UFMDC) has a full complement of experts in several disciplines. Neurologists, physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, neurosurgeoons, neuroscientists, neurophysicists, psychiatrists. Twenty one faculty members and over 30 students and residents make up one of the most dynamic Movement Disorders Centers in the country.

Physical therapy and gait training
Physical therapy helps the patient regain some of the balance,
strength and range of motion they have lost from the symptoms of
their movement disorder. Local patients can continue their therapy
at Shands Rehab while non-local patients may be given a therapy plan
to taked to a physical therapist in their city. Keith Myers dedicates
his practice at UF to Parkinson's and movement disorders.

Speech and language disorder evaluation and treatment
Speech Language Pathology is a rehabilitation service that
treats patients for problems they are having with their speech, voice
or language. Speech pathologists also help evaluate and treat
swallow problems that can occur with Parkinson's disease. Dr. Rosenbek
and Sapienza dedicate their clinics to patients with voice, swallowing
or speech problems and have developed therapies to help them!
