Okun Joins WE MOVE Education Comittee

WE MOVE is the Internet's most comprehensive resource for movement disorder information and education and the only organization of its kind. Since 1991 WE MOVE has been educating and informing patients, healthcare professionals, and the public about the latest clinical advances, management, and treatment options for neurologic movement disorders. WE MOVE’s mission is to raise awareness of movement disorders for the purpose of early and accurate diagnosis and up-to-date, appropriate management.

In December 2005, WE MOVE expanded its Education Committee and Michael S. Okun, MD is joining experts from around the world to help in establishing educational policies in support of its ongoing education and awareness initiatives.

Education Committee members were chosen for their outstanding contributions as clinicians, researchers, and educators.

Michael S. Okun, M.D., a neurologist with fellowship training in movement disorders and movement disorders surgery.  Dr. Okun is particularly involved in motor dysfunction (tremor, stiffness, slowness, wearing off of drugs, and dyskinesia), DBS surgery, DBS programming, benefits and complications of DBS, management of medications following DBS, new devices for the treatment of PD symptoms, stem cells and viral vectors.
