Janet Romrell graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in January 1991. After working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, she returned to Florida, where she attended the Physician Assistant Program at the University of Florida College of Medicine, and received a Bachelor of Science in Medicine, with honors.
She has been a physician assistant for seven years, and worked with the Department of Otolaryngology for five years, prior to joining the Movement Disorders Center at its inception in July 2002.
Janet has received advanced training with movement disorders experts for two years, focusing on Parkinson’s disease, tremor, dystonia, and a variety of more rare disorders. She has also received advanced training in intra-operative mapping, DBS placement, and DBS programming. In addition, she is an AAN certified botulinum toxin care provider.
Janet’s role in the center is to assure accurate diagnosis and treatment for all movement disorder patients.
