As Outreach Coordinator for the Movement Disorders Center, Rachelle travels to rural and underserved areas surrounding Gainesville, educating the general population about the signs and symptoms of Parkinson Disease as well as screening for the disease during these sessions as a prelude to Operation Housecall. Rachelle also guides patients through the DBS Fast Track program, our 2-day evaluation to determine DBS surgical candidacy. She handles all appointments and insurance clearances for this extensive evaluation process. Medical professionals who travel to UF to observe the Movement Disorder clinics, procedures and surgeries are scheduled through Rachelle, who oversees HIPPA compliance for these visitors and schedules their visits appropriately. She also plans and oversees our annual Movement Disorders Symposium.
Rachelle has completed Allied Team Training for Parkinson and is a member of the Suwannee River Area Health Education Center’s Board of Directors.
